Introduction
The NCS-TTT (National Competency Standard - Train The Trainer) program, specifically standard NCS-004:2017, is a 5-day intensive certification course regulated by the Department of Skills Development (JPK) under Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources. It is a requirement for trainers in the TVET ecosystem and allows for HRD Corp TTT exemption.
The program is structured into four core competency units, typically delivered over five days of training plus an assessment:
5-Day Program Outline
Day 1: Determine Training Requirements
•Introduction to adult learning principles (andragogy).
•Conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps.
•Defining learning outcomes and training objectives.
Day 2: Design Training Courses
•Structuring competency-based training modules.

Day 4: Conduct Training Evaluation & Assessment

Day 5: Practical Sessions & Micro-Teaching
•Participants deliver a live "micro-teaching" session for evaluation.
•Receiving feedback from lead trainers and peers.
•Review of professional ethics and national training standards.
Certification Details
Validity: As of January 2026, NCS-TTT remains a key pathway for national-level professional recognition for trainers in Malaysia.
Outcome: Successful candidates receive the Achievement of Competency Statement from the Department of Skills Development (JPK).
