Introduction

Wouldn’t it be great if we could predict when an accident, injury or a heart attack will happen? But, as we all know, they wouldn’t. The fact is that safety is a constant concern when we are at

work or home. This course is a 2 full days’ competency training program. It is specially designed to train the average workers or layperson to become a competent First Aider in order to provide

emergency first aid and care to the injured or ill person during emergency.

Course Objective

  • To provide the skill and knowledge to enable a first aider to provide an initial response to an emergency in line with practiced actions
  • Identify hazards to the health & safety of the first aider and others in an emergency situation.
  • Assess the casualty, identify injuries and determine the need for assistance
  • Apply first aid treatment
  • Correct procedures for CPR and used of AED (American Heart Association Guidelines 2015)
  • Communicate & report details of the incident
  • Apply the principles of Universal Precautions while delivering the responsibility to protect the first-aiders from acquiring blood borne pathogen e.g Hepatitis B and HIV
